Attention Moms: You are doing just fine….

This past week, my friend and I decided to take our 4 kids to Wildwood, NJ to go to the beach. We had this vision of what vacation would be like before we went. The kids laughing, kicking up water, playing nicely in the sand, warm weather, beautiful skies, going to the boardwalk and riding rides together, jumping in the pool and really soaking up a beautiful vacation away from home.

BUT — that didn’t happen.

We took the kids to the beach and within 5 minutes of getting settled, it starts to POUR down rain! We are grabbing up soaking wet towels, gathering sand toys, listening to crying kids, covering up any snacks we have before they get destroyed and taking what seemed like a mile walk back to the hotel. (Seriously, if you have been to Wildwood, you know that the beach is HUGE and it feels like the longest walk ever)!

2 moms getting rained on at the beach

That is pretty much how the rest of the trip went. Tons of rain, didn’t get to do all the rides, kids getting cuts, kids whining about not enough money to spend at the arcade, kids whining about each other, kids whining about walking too much, (moms, you get where this is going haha), went to the pool and got rained out again, stuck inside the hotel, pee on the couch, kids getting time outs, moms got locked out of the hotel room (yea, that happened – insert 2 minute panic attack), movie theatre sold out as we get there, bowling alley on the longest wait ever, waiting 30 minutes for a trolley with 4 kids who are not patient, forgetting tooth brushes and having to run out (and may or may not have stopped for spritzers also 😉 ), lost a shoe, kids not sleeping and two moms just trying to get make it to night time when we can sit outside and talk.

My friend and I literally laughed the WHOLE trip. We did what we could to make light out of every situation. We found the humor in it all and we kept talking about how crazy of a trip this has been. And we couldn’t imagine what the kids were thinking. Poor kids getting rained out of every single fun thing we wanted to do.

And then one of the little ones called their dad to update them on the trip. My friend and I looked at each other thinking “here we go.” And to our surprise…. she told her dad all the fun she was having. The beach was fun, the pool was fun, how everyone was being funny, how she won toys at the arcade, she got to ride fun rides, she had good food and she was having a GREAT time.

She left out every single negative moment we had on the trip. She left out the rain storms, the boo-boo’s, the time outs, all the things we couldn’t do and instead focused on all the fun she was having.

So my point is — MOMS, this is your reminder that you are doing JUST FINE.

For the mom’s who get stressed out over vacations, who get stressed out when things don’t go as planned, who just want the best time for your kids……… The FACT alone that you want to have any kind of fun with your children, makes you a GREAT mom.

Are you perfect? NOPE.

Do your kids think you are? YEP.

So keep doing what you are doing. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Don’t focus on the negative and instead find the good in every situation.

Your kids follow your reaction to events more than the events themselves.

So moms – incase you needed a reminder…..  You are doing Just Fine!

(And on days you need an extra boost, there is always wine). 😉

Year 16 and we are putting the whole “for richer Year 16 and we are putting the whole “for richer or poorer, in sickness and health” to the test. 😳

Between hospital bills and almost 2 weeks in the hospital - we have reached the sicker and poorer side of our marriage 🫤

But we have also stayed madly in love throughout every adventure and moment… and this won’t be any different. 🥰

To the guy I married when I was 20 years old and everyone said it was crazy….

You are the best part of my life 💕

Here’s to another 16…. 🥂
More health & more richer 😉😆

HE IS HOME!!! 🙌🏼🥰💕🎉 My favorite pe HE IS HOME!!! 🙌🏼🥰💕🎉

My favorite person in the entire world is home after a long 12 days in the hospital!!!!!!

12 days is the LONGEST we have ever not snuggled together….
The LONGEST the kids haven’t had daddy home…

For 10 of those days, we didn’t have a full conversation.. which is also the longest time we have gone without talking 😪

He still has pancreatitis and will need gallbladder surgery in the near future….
But for now, he can heal at home with his family! 💕

We are so grateful for all of the love, prayers, visits, meals, kid pickups and every bit of incredible support.

For most of the time he was gone, I cried every morning and every night before and after I was with him.
I am so very grateful for every person that offered any help because it meant soooo much and mentally I needed it!!!

We are soooooooooooo grateful as a family for ALL OF YOU!! 💕

Every person who helped and prayed and supported us was absolutely apart if his healing.

We are snuggling him extra now and taking every bit of time we have with him!!!

XOXOX,

This is not the Mothers Day I would have picked… This is not the Mothers Day I would have picked…

But I would pick these kids, this family and this moment of pride for my boy over and over again.

Just being together matters.

Just raising good humans matters.

If my Mothers Day gift this year was this reminder that my kids are growing into great people.. that’s enough 💕

I don’t know if it’s a sign… But I do know t I don’t know if it’s a sign…
But I do know there is power in prayer…
I do know there aren’t any coincidences…
I do know that these doves weren’t not just flying by and found a place to land…
They had to come from up above and swoop down into this courtyard.

Tonight will officially mark the most amount of ni Tonight will officially mark the most amount of nights we haven’t slept together in 17 years… 😢

The hardest part of today was him being out of it so much and sleeping that he was talking in his sleep to the kids. 😪

The second hardest was feeding him and seeing him be the most weak he has ever been.

The third hardest was leaving him…

I walk away and leave it to God and the nurses to take care of him while I’m gone.

And go home and put a smile on my face when I’m home with the kids…

And pray that when I come back, he has GRANDPA JOE’d himself out of this bed and I can take him home 🥰
Our favorite person in the house went to the ER wi Our favorite person in the house went to the ER with chest pains (holy scare) —
And it turned out to be the gallbladder. 😬

After alot of scans and tests, it looks like our guy is going to spend some days in the hospital and set to have surgery soon. 😢

My husband is the ROCK of this whole family.
Everyone else (including me) are just mini hurricanes in this life and he is the rock that stays still and holds us all together.

For a second, I thought I would just stay silent on here. If it wasn’t fitness, podcasts or inspiration, maybe I’ll just keep quiet.

But - I have opened up alot about my life…
And I don’t want you to follow me or my family and think everything is rainbows and butterflies.

I don’t want people who go through illness or hard times to think they are alone in that. I want to continue to show you that there are hard times, scary times and not every day is a party… but we move forward.

We draw strength from eachother as a family, we draw strength from the friends that have been placed in our lives and we draw strength from God.

I will continue to be open about our family in hopes to inspire you, to be here for you if YOU need someone and to show you that we’re all human and all have struggles.

We are patiently waiting for surgery…
we were all set to go yesterday but his pancreas levels were bad so they canceled it.

Today, we are waiting for blood work to give us the all clear for surgery and hope his pain goes away.

The kids have never seen daddy like this so it’s hard watching them cry everytime they think of him or see him, while trying to hold it in at the same time. 😪

Last night, the kids and I prayed..
We prayed for daddy’s pain, we prayed for the surgeons hands, for the nurses who are taking care of him, for the doctors, and for our friends who have been so thoughtful.

Thank you everyone for your continued prayers, love and support! 💕

He then gave her back the dog treat and said to give it to the dog.

Would love to blow up his kindness 💕
