Job 1 is the First Job You Need to Complete

Think about how committed you are to your job. You show up. You do what’s expected. Maybe you even put in a little more effort because you want to get ahead. Imagine if you gave your fitness and nutrition choices the same priority and discipline. Whether you’re a time-strapped stay-at-home parent or your job comes with a desk and a commute, you owe it to yourself to focus on your fitness and nutrition. Because when you do, you’ll perform better at everything else!

That’s why Beachbody’s newest Super Trainer Jennifer Jacobs created a no-excuses 4-week program that puts you in the mindset that your fitness and nutrition aren’t optional — they’re THE priority.

Job 1 is a 20-minutes-a-day, 5-days-a-week functional training program that helps you prioritize your health and fitness habits — no matter how much you have going on in your life. It’s also the first Beachbody program to be filmed in both English and French. If you’re ready to finally put yourself first, Jennifer will help you get it done.

What Is Job 1?

Ever notice how exercise and good nutrition sometimes drop off your to-do list when you’re busy? It shouldn’t be that way and you know it.

Job 1 combines Jennifer’s no-nonsense training style, 20-minute workouts, and your choice of two super-simple nutrition plans to help you build a healthy routine and stick with it.

All Jennifer asks is that you shift your focus: prioritize yourself the way you prioritize your job or your family.

You’ll tap into a wealth of benefits. More self-confidence. Increased strength. And day by day, the weight falls off. Make your health your top priority and you’ll see major improvements in almost every part of your life.

What Kind of Workouts Are in Job 1?

A 20-minute workout may not seem like enough to get results.

But just wait until you try Jennifer’s innovative functional training.

You’ll hit multiple muscle groups every single day for a total-body sweat that leaves you feeling stronger, invigorated, and accomplished.

You’ll devote three days to strength training. Jennifer knows the best jobs keep you challenged, so each strength workout features a different structure to help you make progress and build strength without adding bulk.

You’ll also have one day of endurance cardio and one day of HIIT to help build your stamina, improve your energy, and dial-in the fat burn.

Jennifer is famous for her amazing motivation in the gym, and especially on the bike.

So, as a bonus, Job 1 also includes four 20-minute indoor cycling workouts — a first for any Beachbody program!

They’re totally optional, but if you have a MYX Bike — or another stationary bike at home — you can choose to do these workouts on your cardio days to add variety to your routine.

On top of that, we plan on releasing five bonus workouts after launch, so keep an eye out!

Four of them focus on a specific muscle group, while the last one is an additional recovery routine for days when you feel like you could use the extra stretch and mobility work.

How Does Nutrition Fit Into Job 1?

Treat every workout like a meeting with Jennifer, making sure your nutrition is also on-point so you can give each one your all.

Jennifer recommends following either 2B Mindset or Portion Fix, two proven nutrition programs that have helped millions reach their weight-loss goals.

No complicated calorie-counting, deprivation, or complex meal planning required.

Need help deciding which program is right for your lifestyle? Use the Find Your Program Tool to see which is best for you.

You can access both nutrition programs on BODi — Beachbody On Demand Interactive.

With a BODi membership, you’ll also get new meal plans and recipes every month, exclusive access to our nutrition experts, and a supportive community that can help you stay motivated during Job 1.

Another easy change you can make to your routine? Drink Shakeology daily.

On top of premium proteins and essential vitamins and minerals, every scoop also delivers antioxidants,  phytonutrients, digestive enzymes, and fiber.

What better way to prioritize yourself than to enjoy the delicious superfood shake that helps support healthy energy,† healthy digestion,‡ and lean muscle. ƒ

Because Jennifer wants you to get the most out of each sweat session, she also recommends drinking Beachbody Performance Energize before you work out.

This premium supplement helps workouts feel easier by providing an energy boost and promoting power and endurance, so you can make each workout count.

What Equipment Do I Need for Job 1?

You’ll need light, medium, and heavy dumbbells, as well as resistance loops to do Job 1.

For the optional cycling workouts, you’ll need a stationary bike.

Who Is Jennifer Jacobs?

Jennifer holds a combination of eight fitness and nutrition accreditations from some of the top certifying agencies in the country.

In addition to being certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) as a personal trainer, nutrition coach, and fitness nutrition specialist, she is also a certified indoor cycling instructor through Schwinn and the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).

A former senior Peloton instructor known for her functional training workouts and heart-pounding cycling classes, Jennifer will help you stay accountable and unleash your best self.

Is It Time for 645 Yet?!?

Amoila Cesar has cracked the code training professional athletes to get the most out of their workouts without jeopardizing their game-time performance.

His secret? Don’t overtrain. It’s the model for his revolutionary new program: 645.

645 combines strength training, cardio, and mobility work using functional, powerful moves that will target your entire body, and still leave you feeling invigorated, energized, and ready for anything.

Commit to Amoila for 13 weeks, and he’ll help you build a legit fit body without feeling constantly sore and spent.

What Is 645?

Created by Beachbody Super Trainer Amoila Cesar, 645 is a cutting-edge strength and mobility training program designed to help you build incredible power while losing weight — and without finishing workouts feeling defeated or wiped out.

He’ll motivate you the same way he does some of the world’s best athletes to get your best workout, every day.

Each session starts with a total-body warm-up that activates your muscles and readies them for the hard work to come. Make no mistake, these first 10 minutes are much more than a good stretch.

By focusing on your entire body, you’re setting yourself up to get the most out of every rep and every move, and to properly prep your body so that you’re physically ready for what’s to come.

645 is 6 days a week, 45 minutes a day, for 13 weeks.

This groundbreaking program is broken into 4 stages — the first three are 4 weeks each, while the last one is week 13.

More than getting great results, Amoila’s goal is to put you on a straight path to reaching your peak in 13 weeks without crawling across the finish line.

If you ever find a workout too challenging, you can follow the modifications as you build up your fitness level.

What Are the Workouts in 645?

For 4 days a week, you’ll focus on strength training, power, and hypertrophy, switching from heavier weights with low reps to lighter weights with higher reps. Each workout has 7 moves that will keep you fired up and engaged.

Wednesday is Mobility & Stability, with an emphasis on efficient activation, stretching, and movement. You’ll feel refreshed and ready to get back to the next day’s workout.

Saturday is Cardio 45, a high-energy cardio session that will build multidirectional speed and agility to get your heart pumping and calories burning.

Sunday is your day. Use it to meal prep, relax, and reframe your mind for the week ahead.

In each of the first 3 stages, you’ll gradually change up your reps and weights as you progress to more challenging moves.

On the 4th week of each stage, you’ll decrease the number of sets to limit the volume of work and enhance recovery before the next stage begins.

Remember, the goal is to work your muscles without overtraining them.

Week 13 is your Performance Stage, where you’ll do your final push to finish strong.

How Does Nutrition Fit Into 645?

Amoila wants you to perform both in the program and off the program. That means getting your nutrition dialed in and up to the level of your fitness commitment.

He recommends following either 2B Mindset or Ultimate Portion Fix, two premium Beachbody nutrition programs that have helped millions change their lifestyle.

You can get access to both nutrition programs with an ongoing Nutrition+ membership.

The membership includes ongoing monthly support with meal plans, delicious recipes, and exclusive access to our nutrition experts and supportive communities.

Another great way to help you stay on track and reach your goals is to take Beachbody Performance supplements and drink Shakeology.

Shakeology is your daily superfood shake that helps support healthy digestion and weight loss.

On workout days, take Beachbody Performance Energize to help jump-start your workout with more energy and focus, and Recover to help your body recover faster afterward.

What Equipment Is Needed for 645?

You’ll need light, medium, and heavy dumbbells, and Power Loops for most workouts.

Power Loops are the next generation of resistance band, offering a wider design and grippier texture that helps them stay in place even during the most active moves.

There are two Power Loops — grey for lighter resistance and black for heavier resistance.

We also recommend a mat for floor work and a foam roller for bonus workouts.

Who Is Amoila Cesar?

The creator of 645, Amoila is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).

He’s famous for his upbeat personality, and for getting celebrities and professional athletes in seriously good shape. His motivational, inclusive style makes you feel like you’re training with him in his gym, along with his crew.

He’s also the creator of 6 Weeks of THE WORK and 4 Weeks of THE PREP, two intense full-body fitness programs available on Beachbody On Demand.

He has his bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in psychology from the University of Central Florida.

When Will 645 Be Available?

645 is coming Summer 2021!

Rachel Marie Success Story

I am always so excited to meet new people, hear their story and help them get to their goals. Rachel was the girl that joined into my fitness groups and committed from the very start. She showed up in our groups, committed to her workouts and her nutrition and clearly her results are proof that it works. So proud of this girl!!! Excited for you to read our interview below!

1. What have your results been so far?

Physically I am down about 10 pounds since the beginning of the year. Mentally and emotionally I feel so much more confident in my body and I love having a routine that I look forward to each day.

2. What has been your biggest struggle?

My biggest struggle is consistently making the time for my workouts with my work schedule. Right now I am working about 60 hours a week and helping my friend babysit her kids so I am stretched pretty thin but I am still making it work!

3. How did you overcome that struggle?

I have been forcing myself to wake up a little bit earlier each day to focus on myself before I go to work. I set my clothes out the night before and make my pre workout go juice ahead of time so I just get up and go in the morning.

4. What did you do to get to your goals?

Staying consistent was the most important thing for me. I plan all my meals for the week on Sundays so I know what I’m eating and I don’t have to take extra time for it during the week.

5. What is your favorite personal development book and why?

I love anything by Rachel Hollis. My favorite I have read so far is Girl Wash Your Face. When I read the book it felt like I was having a conversation with one of my friends and I liked that. The idea that each day is a new day and you just gotta get up and “wash your face” reminds me that every day I get another chance to do better.

6. What is your goal right now?

My main goal is to continue to develop a healthy lifestyle. Ideally I would like to lose another 10 pounds but I have decided to focus more on healthy eating habits and keeping my workout routine rather than focusing on the number on the scale.

7. What is your advice for someone who is just starting out?

My advice would be to just stick with it and commit. If you continue to do the workouts and utilize the recipes you absolutely will get results. And take advantage of the amazing community of women when you need the extra support!

8. What is your favorite Disney movie and why?

I’ve always been a Cinderella girl. She was my favorite princess when I was little and I have always just loved her.

9. What made you want to be a coach?

I want to inspire other women to reach their goals and show them how amazing it can be. I also am just so envious of your life and I want that haha.

10. How has coaching changed you?

Coaching has made me realize that I am not alone. There are so many other women in this group that are cheering me on from afar and it is so nice to have that.

Rachel started this year off giving it her all and her hard work has paid off! I know that she is going to continue working towards her goals and the rest of 2021 is going to be amazing for her!

As you read this and you see her results and you think “could I actually do this?”

The answer is 100% YES! You CAN!

But it won’t happen until you commit and do this for you!

Gina Sheets Success Story

I absolutely love sharing other amazing women’s success. Especially when I know them personally and have watched them put themselves first and make a difference in their lives. Gina shows up daily, she never gives up and has been such an inspiration to us all. We actually met through a friend of a friend and because of this fitness journey have been brought together.

So proud of her results and I am sure they are going to inspire you!!

1. What have your results been so far?

I have lost 70 lbs and dropped 8 pant sizes from a size 22/24 to a size 16 in jeans. I am the strongest I have ever been, and I’m actually a smaller size than when I got married.

2. What has been your biggest struggle?

My biggest struggle has been changing my mindset – especially overcoming decades of bad eating habits. This includes emotional eating, reaching for takeout when busy or tired, and making excuses. Excuses to not work out, excuses to eat junk, etc.

3. How did you overcome that struggle?

I leaned into the accountability groups and also went all in with my nutrition plan. I tried one at the beginning but found it was not quite what I needed. I would try to bank my food (like saving up all my carbs for the evening) or eat too much cheese. In the end, I realized volume eating is more for me rather thank focusing on portions. It also led to me learning the purpose of food. Like carbs give you energy for your day, veggies help fill you up, etc. Focusing on what different foods are for helped me gain control over what I put in my body. Like treats – they exist for our enjoyment. This helps me curb the emotional eating because I want to actually enjoy them rather than eat them in a place of anxiety, depression, etc.

4. What did you do to get to your goals?

I haven’t reached all my goals (I would really like to get out of the obese category even if BMI is not super accurate) but my progress is the result of consistency.

Consistency from working out consistently, leaning into the challenge groups and support from others, and sticking with my nutrition to the best of my ability. I may not be perfect but I try. There were days I could not make it all the way through a workout, but I would try to go a little longer, do a little more each day. It is progress not perfection, as they say! And each day I got a little stronger.

I also completed my certification in 2B Mindset which gave me a deeper look into the HOW and WHY of the program.

5. What is your favorite personal development book and why?

Personal development is something I still struggle with doing regularly. That is why I am doing the book club with the team for accountability!

But one thing I have incorporated is reading my Bible everyday and leaning in to my faith. I have learned from this whole journey that life is harder when you try to do things on your own. Whether that is improving health (because really, you can google meal plans and exercises all you want, but the accountability really is key to action) or going through life. So why not lean on my faith/God for support? In fact, today’s reading was from Psalm 148. The devotional talked about how we can pray to God for help but we are responsible for our own actions. He guides us in the right direction but we still have to do things too. I can pray for financial help but it’s not like I’m gonna win the lotto. I still have to put in the work – in my job and my business.

6. What is your goal right now?

I break up my goals into shorter term goals and longer term goals.

End goal is to be in the healthy BMI range. I have a general idea that I want to be a smaller size/lower number in the scale but it is not really that specific. (That is actually a huge mindset shift for me! I am not as concerned about the numbers). So that is about another 100lbs-ish. Which seems incredibly daunting. But again, I want to be healthy more than a specific number.

Short term: lose another 2 lbs. breaking it into 2 lb goals is much easier than focusing on a larger number.

Generally, I’d also like to drop another pants size and tone up.

7. What is your advice for someone who is just starting out?

Take it one day at a time. Yes, you will have days you are sore, or something comes up to throw off your routine/plans. That is life. But it is all in how you stack one day on the next. One day of healthy eating is not going to make you healthy. Neither will one day of bad eating choices ruin all your hard work. It is how they fit in the bigger picture.

Also, true lasting results take time. It is easy to get impatient and want a quick fix, but I can tell you from experience it will not give you the lasting results. I was a serial dieter and if you name it I have probably tried it. You need to have patience.

And if you are struggling to fit it in I would take a look at your priorities. Because you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others. For me that means going to bed earlier so I can wake up to get my workout in before work. I also set aside time to meal plan and track what I ate that day. As you build the habits it gets easier.

8. What is your favorite Disney movie and why?

Umm…I like a LOT of Disney movies so this is super hard 😂 I was raised on Disney and can definitely sing most of the songs by heart (but you really do not want to hear me sing haha). But a favorite of mine has always been Beauty and the Beast. Growing up I had a nerdy side (still do!) and would always have a book nearby. I also never felt quite like I fit in like Belle and the townsfolk, and loved the idea that inner beauty was more important. Plus pre-covid I loved to host and entertain so Be Our Guest is my jam!!!

9. What made you want to be a coach?

I joined for the discount but decided to actually coach when I had people asking me what I was doing/what was my secret. I want to help others.

10. How has coaching changed you?

It definitely pushed me outside of my comfort zone.

Like driving to a strangers house for a gathering with people I had never met in real life (yet still feels like we have known each other for years). Like posting pictures and videos of myself I never thought I would! Like sharing both the struggles and the triumphs, publicly. And reaching out to people and making connections. I consider myself an introverted extrovert (or extroverted introvert depending on the day) so while I tend to enjoy gatherings and socializing with friends it can also be draining and when I am home I am more likely to curl up with Netflix or a good book and disconnect. So reaching out to people regularly pushes me to be more social, especially in this weird year we had.

I love how hard Gina has worked on herself for herself since making herself a priority! It can be done and all that she needed was to take the first step!

As you read this and you see her results and you think “could I actually do this?”

The answer is 100% YES! You CAN!

But it won’t happen until you commit and do this for you!

Get ready to take control with 9 Week Control Freak!

Filed Under: Coach Life, Fitness // December 3, 2020

2020 feels like it has taken control of everything. Time to take it back! It’s going to be an epic new year — because we are ending it with the release of the 10th Beachbody program created by Autumn Calabrese — 9 Week Control Freak.

New moves, new equipment, stunning results, including a comprehensive approach to taking control of the things that truly dictate the quality of your life, like strength, stamina, nutrition, and even sleep. It’s time to take control!

When life is challenging everything, it’s important to take control of everything you can, and that means taking control of your nutrition, fitness, and health, so you can respond to anything else life throws your way.

How? By becoming a control freak.

People often associate being a “control freak” as a negative, but Super Trainer Autumn Calabrese empowers you to turn it into a positive with her new program, 9 Week Control Freak.

What Is 9 Week Control Freak?

Autumn designed 9 Week Control Freak as three phases that will increase in intensity and exercise difficulty, 5 days a week, three weeks at a time.

What Kinds of Workouts Are in 9 Week Control Freak?

9 Week Control Freak is five days of exercise per week: three DCT-T workouts (Density, Complexes, and Tabata Training), one day of Total Body Tone, and one day of Tabata Cardio and Core.

In addition, there will be supplemental 10-minute bonus workouts to target certain muscle groups.

Density training builds strength and stamina by amplifying training intensity, requiring you to perform 5 exercises for as many rounds as you can fit in before the clock expires.

Strength complexes shift muscle building into overdrive by increasing time under tension.

By not allowing you to put down your weights or let go of your resistance bands until you’ve completed every rep of every exercise, Autumn’s strength complexes combine a handful of different exercises into one giant set that maximizes muscle endurance, strength gains, and calorie burn.

Tabata-inspired interval training helps incinerate calories and increases exercise capacity by challenging your speed, strength, and staying power with short bursts of cardio intensity followed by short breaks.

Together, these three training formats create a powerful stimulus for results. Add a day of pure strength training and a day of Tabata cardio workouts, and you’re going to understand what it feels like to be in total control.

You’ve never done a program like this before — ever!

You’ll be doing a variety of different workouts each week in 9 Week Control Freak, but they all lead to one goal: control.

This is Beachbody’s latest breakthrough to help you become strong, lean, and powerful.

In just 18 to 30 minutes at home, you can trigger more muscle growth, incinerate more calories, and burn more fat than many people do in an hour at the gym.

What Equipment Do I Need?

You’ll need a few key pieces of equipment to do 9 Week Control Freak:

  • Control Track with B-LINES Resistance Band. This adjustable resistance device easily attaches to a qualified door or can be mounted on a wall (Note: It’s important that you only use the Control Track as instructed in our demonstration video and follow the installation guideline provided with the Control Track for safe use).
  • Fitness Step (similar to the one used in Transform :20 with the ability to add height)
  • Core Ball
  • Dumbbells: light, medium, and heavy

What Are Controlled Stretches?

On workout days, Autumn brings you Controlled Stretch sessions. You’ll use light stretching, breathing exercises, and other restorative techniques to help prepare you for better sleep and recovery overnight.

You’ll boost blood flow, ease muscle tension, and enhance your body’s natural repair and recovery processes to optimize your results so you’re ready for peak workout performance in your next session.

You’ll sleep so well, you’ll wonder why you haven’t been doing this all along!

How Does Nutrition Fit Into 9 Week Control Freak?

Feeding your body well plays a key role in your training and in leading a healthy life. The key is finding a nutrition program that gives you CONTROL over food, rather than the other way around.

Beachbody has developed two proven nutrition programs to help people reach their goals. Each offers a unique way to approach food without having to count calories or skip favorite foods!

Since Autumn created 9 Week Control Freak, she will be referring to her nutrition program Ultimate Portion Fix and its different options throughout the program.

It’s Autumn’s signature portion-control program with recipes and meal plans that have helped hundreds of thousands of people lose weight.

Autumn will teach you how to take the guesswork out of eating the right portions, every time, while you still get to enjoy your favorite foods — plus cocktails and dessert!

(You’ll see this in real-time when Autumn celebrates her 40th birthday during the program. She’ll show you how to get results but still enjoy life. A TRUE Control Freak!)

This video-based program shows you how to create satisfying meals for your whole family, balance your proteins, fats, and carbs, swap out processed foods without swapping out flavor, and help you reduce the amount of sugary processed foods you eat that undermine your well-being.

People say that for the first time in their lives they have control over food rather than food controlling them, so it’s the perfect fit for a program called 9 Week Control Freak! But you’ll learn habits that can last a lifetime.

Beachbody also offers a nutrition program called 2B Mindset which was created by Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Ilana Muhlstein, M.S., and is built on the simple principles that helped her lose 100 pounds — and keep it off!

2B Mindset uses four simple guidelines to help you lose weight while still eating larger volumes of food to help you feel satisfied. People say this approach works because it helps them lose weight without feeling deprived.

The good news is when you buy a 9 Week Control Freak Challenge or Completion Pack, you’ll get digital access to both Ultimate Portion Fix and 2B Mindset so you can learn more about each and pick the program that works best for you and your lifestyle.

Autumn will tell you that having all the tools to succeed is one thing, but nothing happens unless you put those tools into action.

That’s why we created the Nutrition+ membership, to give you the tools you need to follow your nutrition plan and stick to it.

You’ll get delicious new recipes every month, easy-to-follow meal plans, expert advice from Autumn and Ilana, PLUS exclusive access to a community of people focused on overcoming the temptations and derailers that have undermined their success in the past.

Nutrition+ helps you stay accountable and motivated.

Your first 30 days of the Nutrition+ membership, which features The Monthly Fix and The Mindset Membership, are included in your Challenge or Completion Pack purchase.

And, no matter how healthfully you eat, it is difficult to get all the nutrition your body needs and craves.

Drinking Shakeology daily is the fastest and most delicious way to help provide your body with a daily dose of dense nutrition.

Meticulously crafted with as many as 60+ superfood ingredients, including premium proteins, phytonutrients, probiotics, prebiotics, adaptogens, digestive enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and more, Shakeology helps provide healthy energy,† satisfy cravings, and make sure your body has the fuel it needs to thrive.

Available in both plant-based vegan and whey-based formulas, as well as amazing flavors like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and café latte.

Breakaway From the Ordinary with 30 Day Breakaway!

They say it takes 30 days to break a habit. But what if you could break away from the same old routine and accomplish so much more in that amount of time? In just 30 days, you can:

  • Discover the joy of running
  • Build a strong and lean physique
  • Use that strength and stamina to take on a different kind of goal: completing a 5K

For the first time ever, Beachbody is bringing you a fitness program that’s designed to be taken outside! 30 Day Breakaway is your chance to get back to the basics, cut through the everyday noise, and do what your body was born to do — run. With Super Trainer and track-and-field athlete Idalis Velazquez in your ear and by your side, you’ll get leaner, stronger and 5K-ready in just 30 days. It’s just you and Idalis as she leads you through fast and effective resistance workouts followed by interval run training that pushes you for short bursts at a level that’s right for you, whether that’s a brisk walk, slow jog, or steady run. And come Day 30, you’ll be amazed at how much you’ve improved as you complete a 5K! This is a one-on-one experience designed to remove all distractions, with the option to choose from either video or audio, have you leave your living room, and tune in to Idalis as she helps you connect to your inner runner. So you can finally break away from everything that’s holding you back and help you get more fit, faster and stronger — and ready to finish a 5K — in just 30 days.

What Is 30 Day Breakaway?

30 Day Breakaway is a running and resistance-training challenge made for rapid results. Your goal? Complete a 5K on day 30. You’ll lift to build lean muscle and then head out for runs with Idalis in your ear as she guides you every step of the way. This dynamic combo of running and resistance training will help you incinerate fat as you build strength, endurance, speed, and total-body power. Raining or snowing outside? No problem. Just follow Idalis from your treadmill as she runs through beautiful landscapes, or substitute any run with the Rainy Day Cardio workout for a killer calorie burn in under 20 minutes. These training sessions with a renowned track star won’t just get you a slimmer, more athletic body. By the end, you’ll be able to say you ran a 5K — and have the results to prove it.

Who Is 30 Day Breakaway For?

30 Day Breakaway is for anyone who needs guidance in building a running foundation, someone who wants to run their first 5K, or experienced runners who want to improve and get the most out of their runs. It’s the perfect choice if you’re looking for a running program paired with resistance training for the ultimate fat-burn. And it’s a great option if you want to get outside for a change.

What Kind of Workouts are Included in 30 Day Breakaway?

You’ll be doing a mix of running and resistance training 6 days a week, 20–45 minutes a day. The 30 Day Breakaway Calendar is geared toward new runners who want to get comfortable with consistent runs and eventually complete a 5K. You’ll start with three walks or runs a week and progressively build up to five, all while lifting on certain days to help build lean muscle that will help power your runs. You can also follow two other digital calendar options:

  • The Advanced Runners Calendar is for people who love to run already or want to step up their commitment by pairing runs with a lifting routine 5 days a week for all 30 days.
  • The Time Crunch Calendar is for people on a tight schedule. It lets you choose either a run or lifting routine for the day and finish your workout within 30 minutes.

The weightlifting sessions will either target certain areas or work your entire body.

Then comes your chance to break away and take it outside — grab your phone and listen to Idalis’ cues on the Beachbody On Demand app as you work up a sweat. You’ll do different types of running (or walking) workouts using your rate of perceived exertion (RPE) — from moderate, steady-state efforts to speedwork — to help your body adapt and progress quickly. On days when you can’t take your runs outside, you can do the Rainy Day Cardio routine instead.

At the end of 30 days, you’re ready for 5K Day — this is your chance to prove your progress by completing a 5K race in your community. Or you can simply run the 5K total distance on your own in your neighborhood and record the time.

Either way, you won’t shy away from calling yourself a runner after you see how far you’ve come in only 30 days — you’ll even get a 30 Day Breakaway race medal for all your hard work if you submit your results.†

What Equipment Do I Need for 30 Day Breakaway Workouts?

To make the most of the days you’ll be resistance training (and to help relieve tired muscles when you’re not), you’ll need:

  • A set of light, medium, and heavy dumbbells
  • Beachbody Resistance Loops
  • A foam roller

You’ll also need a good pair of running shoes to get your runs started on the right foot.

What Nutrition Do I Need?

For true body-shaping results, you have to commit to breaking away from bad habits in the kitchen, too. That means setting a solid foundation for your day with the help of Shakeology. You won’t just get premium proteins and essential vitamins and minerals; each scoop has antioxidants, pre- and probiotics, phytonutrients, digestive enzymes, fiber, and adaptogens. Shakeology packs all these premium ingredients into a tasty superfood shake to help you eat better, feel better, live better, and feel ready to take on the day — and run — ahead.

For nutrition advice to help you reach your goals, the Beachbody Guide to Nutrition is a great place to start. But to really take charge of your nutrition during 30 Day Breakaway and beyond, 2B Mindset and Ultimate Portion Fix are your go-to, long-term options. Both nutrition programs come free when you purchase a Challenge Pack and each offers a unique approach to weight loss that lets you eat the foods you love while helping you tackle emotional roadblocks that can keep you from breakthrough results. 2B Mindset lets you eat larger volumes of the right foods to help keep you satisfied, while Ultimate Portion Fix takes the guesswork out of eating with color-coded containers that measure out perfectly portioned meals. You’ll also get 7-day sample meal plans no matter which program you decide to follow. And to help you stay accountable and on track, you’ll also get access to the Nutrition+membership, which includes The Mindset Membership and The Monthly Fix. This expanded membership gives you access to nutrition experts Autumn and Ilana, support from a community, delicious new recipes, meal plans, and the latest tools to help you succeed and keep your new habits going.

Idalis is also a big believer in Beachbody Performance Energize and Recover. She’s always looking to absolutely crush her weight training, get the most out of every run, and make sure her muscles are well taken care of after those intense sessions. The powerful trio of beta-alanine, quercetin, and caffeine in Energize has been shown to help boost energy and endurance, which are essential to optimizing your runs. And the 20 grams of critical protein in Recover, with BCAAs and pomegranate extract, help support your body’s recovery.

Are the Workouts Also Available in Spanish?

Yes! Idalis recorded all the video and audio workouts in English and Spanish, so you can choose the language you’re most comfortable with. You’ll find both options on Beachbody On Demand.

Who Is Idalis Velazquez?

Idalis is a NASM-certified personal trainer and creator of Beachbody’s Spanish-language program, Mes de Más. She’s been a dedicated athlete since her days in Puerto Rico, where she ranked nationally as a track-and-field star for 10 years. Now Idalis is going back to her running roots to show what’s possible when you tap into your own inner runner. In the 30 Day Breakaway, she’ll be running some of the most beautiful landscapes to inspire you to do the same — to go out for a run and break away from all the noise — and get transformative results in just 30 days.

When Can I Stream 30 Day Breakaway?

Offers go on sale and VIP Early Access begins October 19, 2020 (Coach-Exclusive Window October 5 – October 18, 2020) so let’s chat today and make sure you are signed up on Day 1!

Year 16 and we are putting the whole “for richer Year 16 and we are putting the whole “for richer or poorer, in sickness and health” to the test. 😳

Between hospital bills and almost 2 weeks in the hospital - we have reached the sicker and poorer side of our marriage 🫤

But we have also stayed madly in love throughout every adventure and moment… and this won’t be any different. 🥰

To the guy I married when I was 20 years old and everyone said it was crazy….

You are the best part of my life 💕

Here’s to another 16…. 🥂

HE IS HOME!!! 🙌🏼🥰💕🎉 My favorite pe HE IS HOME!!! 🙌🏼🥰💕🎉

My favorite person in the entire world is home after a long 12 days in the hospital!!!!!!

12 days is the LONGEST we have ever not snuggled together….
The LONGEST the kids haven’t had daddy home…

For 10 of those days, we didn’t have a full conversation.. which is also the longest time we have gone without talking 😪

He still has pancreatitis and will need gallbladder surgery in the near future….
But for now, he can heal at home with his family! 💕

We are so grateful for all of the love, prayers, visits, meals, kid pickups and every bit of incredible support.

For most of the time he was gone, I cried every morning and every night before and after I was with him.
I am so very grateful for every person that offered any help because it meant soooo much and mentally I needed it!!!

We are soooooooooooo grateful as a family for ALL OF YOU!! 💕

Every person who helped and prayed and supported us was absolutely apart if his healing.

We are snuggling him extra now and taking every bit of time we have with him!!!

This is not the Mothers Day I would have picked… This is not the Mothers Day I would have picked…

But I would pick these kids, this family and this moment of pride for my boy over and over again.

Just being together matters.

Just raising good humans matters.

If my Mothers Day gift this year was this reminder that my kids are growing into great people.. that’s enough 💕

But I do know there is power in prayer…
I do know there aren’t any coincidences…
I do know that these doves weren’t not just flying by and found a place to land…
They had to come from up above and swoop down into this courtyard.

Tonight will officially mark the most amount of ni Tonight will officially mark the most amount of nights we haven’t slept together in 17 years… 😢

The hardest part of today was him being out of it so much and sleeping that he was talking in his sleep to the kids. 😪

The second hardest was feeding him and seeing him be the most weak he has ever been.

The third hardest was leaving him…

I walk away and leave it to God and the nurses to take care of him while I’m gone.

And go home and put a smile on my face when I’m home with the kids…

And pray that when I come back, he has GRANDPA JOE’d himself out of this bed and I can take him home 🥰
Our favorite person in the house went to the ER wi Our favorite person in the house went to the ER with chest pains (holy scare) —
And it turned out to be the gallbladder. 😬

After alot of scans and tests, it looks like our guy is going to spend some days in the hospital and set to have surgery soon. 😢

My husband is the ROCK of this whole family.
Everyone else (including me) are just mini hurricanes in this life and he is the rock that stays still and holds us all together.

For a second, I thought I would just stay silent on here. If it wasn’t fitness, podcasts or inspiration, maybe I’ll just keep quiet.

But - I have opened up alot about my life…
And I don’t want you to follow me or my family and think everything is rainbows and butterflies.

I don’t want people who go through illness or hard times to think they are alone in that. I want to continue to show you that there are hard times, scary times and not every day is a party… but we move forward.

We draw strength from eachother as a family, we draw strength from the friends that have been placed in our lives and we draw strength from God.

I will continue to be open about our family in hopes to inspire you, to be here for you if YOU need someone and to show you that we’re all human and all have struggles.

We are patiently waiting for surgery…
we were all set to go yesterday but his pancreas levels were bad so they canceled it.

Today, we are waiting for blood work to give us the all clear for surgery and hope his pain goes away.

The kids have never seen daddy like this so it’s hard watching them cry everytime they think of him or see him, while trying to hold it in at the same time. 😪

Last night, the kids and I prayed..
We prayed for daddy’s pain, we prayed for the surgeons hands, for the nurses who are taking care of him, for the doctors, and for our friends who have been so thoughtful.

Thank you everyone for your continued prayers, love and support! 💕
